We had the opportunity to visit Myrtle Beach South Carolina several years back and absolutely loved it. We can’t wait to go back. There was so much to do and see. Myrtle Beach is a family friendly vacation hot spot. We stayed at a beach-front hotel and spent quite a bit of time in the water.
I had salty hair and didn’t care. If you are fair-skinned like my daughter, Ashley, just wear lots of sunscreen.
Our home for a couple of days was Wyndham Westwinds on Ocean Boulevard. It was really nice and comfortable. They had a complimentary breakfast featuring all the good stuff like bacon, eggs, pancakes, omelets, you name it. That saved us money on our food bill during vacation and for that, we are thankful!
We had to visit Pier 14 at Myrtle Beach which has a popular restaurant which is a must try when you visit Myrtle Beach. I love checking out the piers. We don’t really do much fishing, but there were lots of fishermen and women out that day. I probably don’t even need to mention it was crazy windy! Look at my hair! There were lots of neat trinkets and collectibles at the gift shop too.
The pier was a good spot for some quick photo shoots.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Myrtle Beach South Carolina
One of our stops on our family vacation was at Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum. It was fun. There were all sorts of unique and unusual attractions inside.
Joey and Jo really enjoyed seeing The World’s Tallest Man.
Mount Atlanticus Miniature Golf Myrtle Beach South Carolina
The guys wanted to play some miniature golf so we headed over to Mount Atlanticus. This was one of my favorite mini-golf courses. The tropical theme and amount of holes with twists and turns were challenging enough for us adults and easy enough for the kids. We all had a blast.
They were plotting their next move trying to beat me which is not really hard to do. I am not very good at golf of any kind but it was a fun time spent with my family.
There were also plenty of nice little stops along the way to take a break.
Sea Captain’s House Restaurant
We ate at this fabulous seafood restaurant which is located in the heart of Myrtle Beach. The staff was super nice and the food was outstanding. I am crazy about shrimp and they had plenty to choose from. The menu included items such as American cuisine and soups as well. If you like southern comfort food, they have that too. This place also has an amazing oceanfront view that you won’t want to miss if you ever take a trip to Myrtle Beach.
This was a short trip so we did not see everything we wanted to so we are definitely planning on taking a trip back there in the near future now that the kids are much older and we have new family members on board!
